Dufourspitze, Chickster in Express

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (July 30, 2008) -- California-breds Dufourspitze and Chickster are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Claiming Crown Express Stakes at Canterbury Park.

Dufourspitze is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Al Nasr mare Sasafrass Rose, was bred by Peg Goemans & McNamara Family Trust, foaled at Creston Farms, is owned by Charles Golden and trained by Steve Manley. He has six wins in 42 starts, earnings of $80,530 and is coming off a ninth in a July 5 allowance.

Chickster is by Loyal Double, out of the Desert Wine mare Pennysaver, was bred by Mercedes Stable, foaled at Running Luck Ranch, is owned by SEJ Stables and trained by Justin Evans. The $2,700 Barretts purchase has 18 wins in 41 starts, earnings of $101,658 and is coming off a five-race win streak.
