Cal-bred Pair in Bing Crosby

DEL MAR, Calif. (July 23, 2008) -- California-breds Johnny Eves and Spot the Diplomat are entered in Sunday’s $300,000 Grade II Bing Crosby Handicap at Del Mar.

Grade I winner Johnny Eves is by Skimming, out of the Capote mare Capote’s Halo, was bred by owners Mooncoin LLC and was foaled at Ridgeley Farms. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $386,720 and is coming off a fourth in the Apr. 27 Tiznow.

Spot the Diplomat is by Worldly Manner, out of the Moscow Ballet mare Scare Tactics, was bred by and foaled at Harris Farms, is owned by Gary and Cecil Barber and trained by Peter Miller. He has four wins in 16 starts, earnings of $247,861 and is coming off a win in a July 4 $40,000 claimer.
